OPPA Active Jurors and Jury Chairs have spent countless time studying and honing their skills to become qualified to judge your images. You can be confident that your scores are based on the 12 elements and and follow best practices followed by PPA Jurors.
OPPA Active Jurors are all experienced image competitors themselves and are required to attend ongoing training to ensure their competition and judging skills are kept current.

Beth Brinston M.Photog. CPP, FP-OR | Beth Brinston is a Master Photographer, CPP and FP-OR, APAI, Accred. PPOC has been an OPPA member since 2017. She started competing at the PPA print competition level in that same year and became an approved OPPA Juror in 2021. She is passionate about print competition and believes that competing is some of the most valuable education available to photographers to help master their craft. Beth has also been a two-time Grand Imaging Award Nominee at the International Print Competition hosted by PPA. She runs a part-time photography business specializing in Pet Photography in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

M.Photog.Cr., CPP, | Lisa Dillon is a Master Craftsman Photographer and CPP from Portland Oregon. She is a Diamond Fellow of Photography in Oregon.She is in her 23rd year of business and specializes in high school senior, executive headshots and family photography. She is a 3-time president of Oregon Professional Photographers of Oregon and past president of the Professional Photographers of Oregon as well as an approved PPA juror. In addition to judging, Lisa teaches classes on image competition and business. She also mentors young photographers.She is a mother and a grandmother and loves to travel the world. A long time competitor, Lisa uses Image Competition as a way to explore new ideas and build on personal projects.

Thea Martin M.Photog., FP-OR, DFP-OR | Thea Martin has been photographing for over 40 years and had a camera in her hand as soon as she could walk and spent many hours in her dad’s darkroom. While she specializes in Fine Art and Nature Photography, she knows her way around a studio as her father is a portrait photographer in Mexico. She has her Master of Photography Degree from PPA, Fellow of Photography from OPPA, has earned multiple medals by competing at IPC and earned a GIA award from Districts in 2022. Thea is an approved juror for OPPA and Professional Photographers of California and is an Approved Juror for the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). She leads Juror Oversight Committee for OPPA and she currently serves as a PPA Councilor.

 Bryan Welsh M.Photog.Cr., CPP, API, EA-ASP, FP-OR, HFP-OR | Bryan Welsh, of Hillsboro, Oregon is a Portrait photographer and educator.He has received numerous awards in image competitions that include - PPA Loan Collections, Fuji MASTERPIECE Awards and Kodak Gallery Awards. Bryan’s images and articles have been published in numerous publications in the photographic industry. Bryan has his Masters of Photography Degree (M. Photog.) & Photographic Craftsman Degree (Cr. Photog.) and is a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP). He has the Fellow of Photography Degree from the Oregon Professional Photographers Association. Bryan also holds the status of an Approved Photographic Instructor (API) and has over 100 speaking merits (EDU 100). Bryan is the Past President of the Oregon Professional Photographers Association and the elected PPA Councilor for the State of Oregon. Bryan is an approved juror for the OPPA and is an Approved Affiliate Juror for the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).
