OREGON PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS ASSOCIATION
Want to get the most out of Image Competition... Are you a competition newbie? Or maybe you’ve entered a few times but weren’t satisfied with your scores? We have the workshop for you!
Join Bryan Welsh and Lisa Dillon for a day of total competition immersion. We’ll show you how to look at your work with a judge’s eye so that you select the best competition images. We’ll also talk about shooting specifically for competition and using personal projects as material for competition. We’ll discuss what makes an image strong for competition and what kinds of things to look for that might make an image weak. Once we’ve selected images, we’ll discuss processing the images to get your best results. Class participants are encouraged to bring potential competition images for review—we’ll help you select your strongest images and give you pointers on how to best prepare them. You may learn some great Photoshop tricks that you can also use in your daily workflow. Bring your images on a thumb drive, CD or external hard drive.
Bonus: If you are interested in being a OPPA Juror visit:
http://oregonppa.org/Juror-Development-Program for the details and process. This class is 1 of the 2 that are prerequisites for joining the juror development program.
