About the instructor, Julia Fitzgerald, CPA

Moved to Oregon in September 1992 with my husband Mark and our family of dogs and cats.  We live in SW Portland and I enjoy working out of my home office.

I worked for small CPA practices before opening up my own tax practice in July of 2002. I closed the tax business in December 2013 in favor of a more enjoyable boutique bookkeeping business that serves small business owners who would like to delegate their bookkeeping off of their desk.  I handle the day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll management so that they can take care of more important projects.

Over the years I have seen hundreds of books and find that most small business owners need to have a simple system for their bookkeeping in order for them to either delegate it to a bookkeeper or for them to keep it up themselves. I am a teacher at heart and really enjoy training my clients on how to keep their books in shape.

I love photography and have been around it for over 30 years.  I am involved in our local photography association and look forward to being around as a mentor for many years to come.

I am also an animal lover and enjoy my weekly volunteering at a neighborhood animal shelter Animal Aide where I get to take care of some wonderful cats and dogs that are looking for that special forever home.
