A Night with the Pros:
Utterly Irreplaceable - Finding and Owning Your Niche Market
w/ Ara Roselani

In a world of approximately 4 gagillian photographers, finding and serving your niche market is vital to both your fulfillment as an artist and success as a business.  Join me on an adventure as we discuss embracing what makes you utterly irreplaceable, and using that foundation to mould an exciting, long-term business that serves both you and your perfect client.  Whether you're new to professional photography, or a veteran with a strong business base, I will help empower you to hone your marketing and approach.

We will talk about:
  • Why you are the only person who can do what you do, and how to capitalize on that
  • Identifying your true target audience
  • Using your marketing material/website/office as an invitation to that target audience
  • Finessing your portfolio, and finding creative ways to show what you want to do, not just what you have done
  • Building a network of kindred spirits for both support and referrals
  • When to take jobs, and when it’s okay to say no
  • Being brave, smart, and good to yourself as you grow
  • Looking ahead to where your art will take you next, and building the support you need to get there

Ara Roselani has photographed weddings, elopements and landscapes for over 10 years, and has traveled worldwide to document her clients on their adventures. Both her landscapes and wedding photography have won awards, including the Shutterfest Vision Award.  Equally at home in muddy boots and a good pair of heels, she has found her niche with outdoor-lovers, often photographing weddings at waterfalls, National Parks, mountainside bed-and-breakfasts, and other atmospheric locations both indoors and out.  She lives in Portland with her husband and dog, and loves road trips, rock climbing, reading, playing video games, and adventures that make her late for dinner.

This event is free to all (members and nonmembers) but we do ask that you register using the button on the left.
