What's New with OPPA?

A quick look at changes to OPPA as we evolve as an organization.

June 2018:

New Role: April Kroenke resigned as OPPA Treasurer as she's moving out of the area.  We thank her for her many hours of service to OPPA over the past two years.  The Board of Directors appointed Aaron Hockley as OPPA's new Treasurer.

May 2018:

New Bling: The OPPA Salmon Pin program (download your passport here) will provide a fun recognition for active members.  Hit that link to learn more but you'll be on your way as you participate in competition, workshops, volunteer service, and more.

March 2018:

New Process: OPPA has created a formal process around member ethics complaints.  For questions, contact Bylaws, Rules, and Ethics Director Bryan Welsh.

Mentorship Change: After receiving feedback from mentors and students of our first round of mentorships, we're altering the program structure for 2018.  Details coming soon - in the meantime contact Sam Tarrel with any questions.

February 2018:

New Policy: The owner of a venue who is allowing OPPA to host an event at no cost to OPPA will be given one complimentary admission to the event.

New Awards: Beginning with the November 2018 annual Open Competition, five new Elements awards will be presented.  The awards will be: Impact, Best Composition, Most Creative, Technical Excellence Award, and Best Storytelling.  The awards will be presented to five different images that score 80 or above.

New Affiliate Supporter: Spider Holster is a new affiliate partner and is donating products to OPPA

January 2018:

New Policy: Payment for event registration is now required at the time of registration.
